InnovateUS: Planning Workshop with States on Responsible AI (invite only)
This invite-only planning workshop is part of a series of convenings designed to seek broad input into the development of learning opportunities for public professionals in understanding and using AI (including Generative AI), exploring promising and effective practices for responsibly leveraging Generative AI, identifying beneficial use cases to help government serve people equitably and effectively, and learning how to evaluate risks/ethical implications. Additional planning workshops will be held for representatives from federal agencies and for experts and leaders from across relevant industry, universities, institutes, and civic tech organizations.
During this workshop focused on state government workforces, together we will explore questions such as:

- Roles and Functions Related to AI: What topics are essential to explore through curriculum for public professionals on responsible AI? How might civil servants in your state agency or across your state government best be introduced to these topics? Would curriculum need to vary based on the roles and responsibilities of a given learner–for example, front line workers, managers, and senior executives?
