Asia Simms is an undergraduate student in Northeastern’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities pursuing a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Sociology. She is a Communications Intern at the Burnes Center for Social Change, specifically contributing to Power at Work— the blog promoting labor and economic empowerment.

Over the course of her three years at Northeastern, Asia has engaged in many service-learning opportunities and has embraced a role as a student leader in the Explore Program for Undeclared students. Asia has written several advocacy pieces about social and environmental causes which have been published in the National Recreation and Park Association’s monthly magazine. She also has a published letter to the editor in the Washington Post.
