Corliss Thompson

About
Dr. Corliss Thompson is a Teaching Professor of Education that serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate School of Education (GSE) within the College of Professional Studies. Prior to becoming an administrator, Dr. Thompson taught in the Doctorate of Education and Masters of Education programs at Northeastern. In 2017, she was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award for the College of Professional Studies.
As a scholar-practitioner, Dr. Thompson has consulted with leaders in in higher education, K-12 schools, and other non-profits utilizing her expertise in program evaluation, learning science, teacher education, and social foundations of education Dr. Thompson volunteers her expertise in her local community and has focused on issues of access in her scholarship, including a National Science Foundation grant to spur more underrepresented students’ interest in STEM fields through experiential, profession-based learning.
Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Thompson was a program evaluator and elementary school teacher. Dr. Thompson holds a Ph.D. and a MA in Education from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and a BS in Elementary Education and History from UNC Greensboro.
