Our Team

Kate Cummings is a Research Fellow at the Burnes Center for Social Change and the Governance Lab. Kate leads InnovateUS, our innovation skills training for public sector employees as well as on our work supporting civic leaders in gaining access to equitable public engagement insights.   Kate started her career as an organizer, first for Barack Obama and subsequently for campaigns including leading Hilary Clinton’s 275-person team in Virginia in 2016. Since then, she has applied those experiences on behalf of mission-driven technology companies. Most recently, she led customer enrollment and experience at TrialSpark (a Series C healthcare company); before that, she led the Customer Experience and Community team at Meetup, serving more than 250,000 members around the world. Kate is also working with New York City’s Health and Hospitals, helping the City improve its contact tracing and community outreach program.
